Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown

Lies Beneath is a YA novel about Calder White and Lily Hancock. Calder and his sisters (merpeople) seek the debt owed to their mother by Lily's grandfather. This debt is Lily's father.

I had my doubts about reading a book on merfolk. Despite my misgivings I really enjoyed this book. Took a couple of chapters, but once I got into the book I couldn't put it down, which is something hard to do when you're reading 3 other books!

The Sleepwalkers by J. Gabriel Gates

During his high school graduation party, Caleb receives a letter from his childhood best friend. After reading the letter Caleb decides to forego his plans of traveling to Africa and returns to his hometown in search of his old friend. Once he arrives he finds his dad missing, and also that children and teens have been missing for a while. His childhood best friend, Christina, is locked up at the new Dream Center for sleepwalking and it's his mission to save her from there.

The story is a little slow at first but once it started going I thought it was very good. The sleepwalkers possessed by spirits is one I haven't read before. I like that this book isn't a first of a series. I can't say this book was scary, but then I'm not sure if I have come across a book that has scared me. I do think that possessed sleepwalkers is a freaky thought!
