Skype Santa!

What kid would love a chance to speak with Santa over Skype? I didn't hear about this last year, but I think we will be trying this if I can ever get an evening off where we could call.

This would be a great chance for your child(ren) to let Santa know what they would like for Christmas! I think this is a great thing. It's free to call.

Santa is only available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4pm-5pm Central time. The Skype location is "sandestinresort".

Check out the article Skype with Santa for more information!

This was available last year, but this is the first year I have heard about it. I have found another site that offers a 10 minute chat with Santa over Skype for $14.95.

Happy Skyping!

12-Gallon Plastic Lidded Crate $3.24

Real Organized 12-Gallon Red and Green Plastic Lidded CrateReal Organized 12-Gallon Black and Grey Plastic Lidded Crate
You can get either one of these totes at Lowes with free in-store pick-up. I choose to buy 2 of the red and green crates and 2 of the black and grey crates. They are $3.24 each with free in-store pick-up. I will go tomorrow to get mine.

I have a Halloween box that I use to store all my Halloween decorations and whatnots, and it has gotten full. I started it last year. I buy when everything goes on clearance for 75-90% off. This will allow me to have a bit more room for next years clearance! :)

I will use one of the red and greens for my Christmas decorations. Right now I have them seperated in 2 separate smaller boxes.

America Recycles Day 2012 Pledge

America Recycles Day 2012 Pledge

Have you taken your pledge for America Recycles Day?

AMC The Walking Dead less than $12!

My family and I love watching The Walking Dead. The 2 below can be found for under $12!

If you are looking for the second season, you can find it for under $20 for DVD or under $25 for Blu-Ray

We have been watching The Walking Dead since it first started, look forward to it every week, and get disappointed when the season comes to an end. :) If you have never seen it, the world has been taken over by zombies. When you die, you turn. If you're bit, you turn. There is a small group of people trying to survive through the events together.

Who is your favorite character on The Walking Dead?

Black Friday, anyone?

Is anyone planning on doing some Black Friday shopping? I have started my planning. I am only wanting one item, and will be going to 2 different stores to get it. I am looking for a new tv. I have narrowed my search down, and then it depends on which one I can actually get!

For Wal-Mart I am looking at:

The Emerson 32 Class LCD 720p 60Hz HDTV 32" Emerson HDTV for $148
The Emerson 40 Class LCD 1080p 60Hz HDTV 40" Emerson HDTV for $198
Philips HTS3541/F7 5.1 CH Home Theater System w/ Blu-ray Disc Player and WiFi Phillips 3D Wi-Fi Blu-Ray Home Theater for $128

At Sears I'm looking at:
Seiki 39 1080p LCD HDTV (SC392TS) (Friday at 4AM) Seiki 39" LCD 1080p HDTV for $199.99
32" HDTV for $97

I would like a 39-40" tv for my living room and a 32" for my son's room. I can do without the blu-ray.

What do you plan on getting? My back up is a tv on sale at Wal-Mart (non-BF) for $300. If I don't get any of that...well, I don't get anything. That will be the end of my shopping, I think, for Christmas. My son's shopping has been finished for a bit now. I bought throughout the year.

Forgotten by Cat Patrick

Forgotten

Each night at precisely 4:33 am, while sixteen-year-old London Lane is asleep, her memory of that day is erased. In the morning, all she can "remember" are events from her future. London is used to relying on reminder notes and a trusted friend to get through the day, but things get complicated when a new boy at school enters the picture. Luke Henry is not someone you'd easily forget, yet try as she might, London can't find him in her memories of things to come.

When London starts experiencing disturbing flashbacks, or flash-forwards, as the case may be, she realizes it's time to learn about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

**My Review**

What would life be like if you could not remember your past....only your future? London lives with this every day. London Lane is just 16 years old, and each night she forgets the day, and only remembers things from her future.

I couldn't imagine having to read about my day to day life each day when I woke up. To have to re-learn each day what has been going on.

I really enjoyed Forgotten. It was well written, and (if you listened to the audio) very well spoken. It kept me wanting more, and I was not ready for the book to end. I wanted to know what was going to happen after....well, you'll just have to read the book.

There are turns in the book that you wouldn't expect, and you get to feel London's emotions with her. If you have not read this book before, you should add it to your TBR.

I checked this audiobook out for a neighboring county library. I listened to it in my car. There were many times I would be sitting in my car in my driveway just to finish the chapter or what not. I then would want it in print or ecopy so I could read it when I would get home. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a print copy at the library and even checked Overdrive. No luck though. Had to spend lots of time in the car!

Boy Meets World

Growing up I use to LOVE watching Boy Meets World. A co-worker told me that they were bringing back the show! On the search I went for more information about the show! I found an article on Huffinton Posts that is stating it's still in early development.

Boy Meets World stared Ben Savage (Corey), Danielle Fishel (Topanga), and Rider Strong (Shawn). Life lessons were taught during this series.

Pictured above is Shawn (Strong), Topanga (Fishel), Corey (Savage) and Eric (Friedle).

The series ran from 1993-2000. If I am remembering correctly this was a part of the line up for TGIF. I always looked forward to Fridays! Did anyone watch this show? Here are some more shows that I enjoyed in my childhood......

HTC One X Review

I decided to get a new phone. I was torn between a HTC One X and the Galaxy Note. It all came down to price. My eyes are really bad so I wanted a bigger screen. For the past 6 months I have been using a Sony Ericcson GamePlay.

I have been using my One X for about a month now. I LOVE it. I paid $25 for it (refurbished, 2 year plan, plus an employee discount). It is a charcoal/dark grey.

Here is a bit of information about it:

4.7" HD LCD screen
1GB DDR2 (RAM), 16GB onboard storage
1.5GHz Dual Core
Beats Audio™
8MP main camera, 1080p HD Video with Stereo Sound
1.3MP front camera with 720p video

I love that I can take my videos and caputre still pictures with them. One issue I did worrry about is the memory. There is no way to use a microSD. The memory that it comes with is the memory that you get. So far I have had no problem downloading all my apps, taking pictures, and downloading music and still having plenty of room. Just in case, before I changed phones I downloaded the DropBox app, and moved all my pictures from my old phone. This allowed me to have the pictures on any phone.

I took this picture while it was dark enough that I couldn't see him. This allowed me to see what he looked like for Halloween (I worked so my mom done his makeup and he was already out in the neighborhood when I finally tracked him down!).

It also has the ability to transfer between phones by touching them together, but I have

I am in love with my 4G HTC One X. Have I mentioned that yet?

Halloween Checkup

Did everyone have a fun, safe Halloween? I, unfortunately, had to work. I did leave work for about an hour to get some pictures.

My son decided to be a zombie. It didn't cost me anything this year. Last year I bought all the makeup and fake blood on clearance for $0.10-0.25 each. The shirt was one he didn't like.

This is Sasha, our American Pit Bull Terrier. Her wings I bought last year as well. I was suppose to be for *my* costume....but since I didn't know I could dress up at work, she wore them for me!

Not many houses in my neighborhood participated in handing out candy. Nothing like it was when I grew up (I lived 4 houses down from where I am now), or even like it was a few years ago!

Jesse did have fun. He was already asleep when I got home since it was a school night. He had his candy spread out all over the table. He doesn't like half of it. The snickers, milky ways, reeces...all the good stuff....is for my mom and I to share! He doesn't like them.
